Welcome
to Papoune's website, dédicated to kids music. Here you'll
find
some information regarding the nature and the purpose of this music
(see below). Thanks to its diversity, parents may also enjoy much of
it. You can also listen to soundclips on the Audio page, and
browse the few other pages of this site (optimized for Mozilla Firefox
et Internet Explorer 6).
Enjoy your stay!
Papoune's
Music
The purpose of Papoune's children music is to offer not only
typical kids music (joyful, funny... or lullabies), but also to
introduce the diversity of music thoughout the world and the time to
young children. In short, it is an attempt to train their ears with the
faint hope that in a few years from now, when they are teenagers, they
will be discerning enough to develop their true
personal musical
tastes, rather than listening
to what massive TV ad
campaigns tell them to download on their mobile phone...
DRM
As
a music lover, I am quite hostile to DRM (Digital Right Management),
these systems that bother more the people who buy their music than
those who download them for free on P2P networks. As long as there will
be DRM on iTunes and the likes, I'll keep buying CDs, at least those
that aren't also copy protected. So, needless to say that if I put DRM
on my music as an artist, it would be somewhat schizophrenic... Sure,
artists must be paid for their work, like any other job (though the
concept of culture being free for everyone is a nice utopia).
However, I don't think that considering your audience as a gang of
potential
thiefs and restricting their use of the music they bought is a good
thing.
My music is available for purchase on Baby
Bidou and, as you can imagine, they don't use DRM.
